Duration: 6-8 hours (depending on attendees and aptitude)
Cost: $80 (covers the classroom course, exam, ammunition, and targets)
Requirements: 18 years of age and either a US citizen or have legal documentation for your stay in the US (you do NOT have to be a Texas resident)
Description: This course is required to obtain a Texas License to Carry, but it is only part of the process. To obtain your license, you MUST a) successfully pass this course, b) submit an application, c) have your fingerprints taken, and d) submit to and pass a criminal background check. You can take this course before or after your application is submitted, but you must submit your application prior to scheduling fingerprints. After submitting your application, you will receive an email with details on fingerprinting.
This course will consist of 4-6 hours of classroom training (duration depends on how many attendees are present and how quickly the attendees absorb the material), a written exam, range orientation, and a 50-round shooting proficiency demonstration. Upon completion of this course, you will be provided a LTC-100 Certificate of Training which must be submitted to DPS/RSD in addition to your application.
Duration: 4-5 hours (depending on attendees and aptitude)

Requirements: 12 years of age with parental consent, 18 without, must be a US citizen (citizenship is an NRA requirement)
Description: This course teaches the basics of safely operating a pistol. You will cover the mechanics of how a pistol works and learn how to properly and safely load, operate, troubleshoot, and unload both semi-automatic and non-semi-automatic pistols. The course consists of 3-4 hours of classroom instruction, a written exam, and a 20 to 80 round shooting proficiency demonstration.

Requirements: A registered youth member of a Scouts BSA troop (Due to Youth Protection rules, at least one parent or legal guardian of EACH scout MUST be present during this instruction.)
Description: During this session, your scout will get an opportunity to complete all the requirements to earn the Scouts BSA Archery Merit Badge. Current requirements can be found at this link: https://www.scouting.org/merit-badges/archery/. The course will cover safety, laws, terminology, use, maintenance, and scoring. The scout will also build an arrow and complete a practical shooting exercise. Successful completion of this course will result in a signed "Blue Card" for the scout to provide to their troop advancement chair.
